Sound Works provides connectivity within the entertainment industry through a private network which encompasses production and post production companies, advertisers, producers, directors, and talent. The network enables trouble-free exchange of high quality audio, compressed video and multimedia data communications, utilizing long distance carriers, regional phone companies, satellite operators, and independent fiber optic telecommunications providers. Sound Works enables convenient "point-and-click" connections to both domestic and international sites.

Sound Works was keenly aware of the demand for producers and advertising creative directors to have the ability to be in more than one place at a time and the need to transmit high quality voice between recording and production facilities, availing themselves of the appropriate talent, regardless of location.

Sound Works has access to a rapidly expanding global network of over 400 North American Affiliates, and nearly 200 International Associates, in cities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and the Pacific Rim. Sound Works provides international networking services not only through its own network, but through its managed gateway -EDnet to other affiliated networks and off-network studios in over 200 cities.

We offer a variety of systems using MPEG Layer II and Layer III algorithms, which offer both quality and affordability. We currently use codecs made by Musicam (CCS) and are compatible with all Layer II and III codecs around the world. You might know of this system under one of its other names, "Digital Patch" or "ISDN phone patch".

Musicam
The Musicam CDQ Prima series now boasts MPEG Layer III compatibility to go along with its renowned Layer II sonic qualities. Offering an extensive degree of user options, this codec allows for expandability, including a SMPTE module for one/two channel plus time-code transmission and additional ISDN cards for increased bandwidth up to 384kbps.
